The film is a delirious and magnificent fantasy of a group of sober French scientists visiting Earth’s only natural satellite. The image of the bullet-like ship hitting the moon right in the eye is famous; this restoration, the brilliant work of Serge Bromberg, brings back to life the long- unseen hand-colored version of this delightful masterpiece.
The restored 35mm print features the original modern soundtrack by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel of AIR*.
This screening precedes Grass: A Nation's Battle for Life. To see A Trip to the Moon, you will need to purchase a Grass: A Nation's Battle for Life ticket.
